Zone Groups Table

The Zone Group facility provides a means for defining commonly occurring groups of zones as an aid to rapid zone selection when editing input data or viewing output.

 

Each zone group table displays the following information:

 

Name

The name given by the user for the zone group.

 

Description

This is detailed information about the zone group.

 

Zones

The names of the zones that are members of this zone group. A zone can be a member of multiple zone groups.

 

Left clicking on the column header will sort the table alphabetically by that parameter. Left clicking on the column header again reverses the order.

 

If the 'Export Zone Sets' option was selected when exporting the 3D model, the zone groups folder will contain zone groups based on those zone sets. These zone groups cannot be edited or deleted.

 

To create a new zone group, right-click on the zones folder and choose 'Zone Groups' from the drop-down list. To change the name of a zone group, left-click on its icon and then left-click again, type in a new name and press <Return>.

 

If you want to assign a single zone to a zone group there is a short cut that you can use. Left-click on the '+' by the 'Zone Groups' folder to reveal all the zone groups in a list format. Now left click on the '+' by the 'Zones' folder to reveal all the zones. Point the mouse cursor to the appropriate zone name in the tree view, hold down the left mouse button, move the cursor to the appropriate zone group and then release the left mouse button.

 

To assign multiple zones to a zone group, left click on the '+' by the 'Zones Groups' folder to reveal all the zone groups, then left click on the 'Zones' folder to bring up the 'Zones' Table. If you left click on a zone row in the table, you will select it. You can select multiple zones by holding down the <Ctrl> button while left clicking on them. You can select a range of zones, by left clicking on the first one in the range, hold down the <Shift> button and then click on the last. all the zones between them will also be selected.

 

Once they are selected, move the pointer over one of the zone row, hold down the left mouse button, move the pointer to the zone group in the tree view and release the mouse button.

 

To delete a zone group, left click on its row in the 'Zone Groups' table and press the <Delete> button. Alternatively, left click on the zone group's icon in the tree view and press the <Delete> button.

 

Double clicking on a zone group in the table will bring up the individual 'Zone Groups' window, which is described in the section: Zone Groups.

 

To change the width of a column, left click and hold the left mouse button down while the pointer is over the line that divides the selected column header and the column header to the right of it and then move the pointer to the left or right then release the mouse button.

 

To change the length of the column so it is best fit, double left click on the line that divides the selected column header and the column to the right of it.

 

Output

This column will tell you whether or not the zones within a zone group will be output to the Results Viewer. In cases where all zones are being output, the column will show "Yes". If none of the zones are being output, you will see "No" displayed in this column. Where some zones are being output and others aren't, you will see "Some" shown here.

 

Zone Groups
