Substitute Element Table

Substitute Element profiles are used to specify that a building element is substituted for another building element at certain times. Left-click on the "Substitute Element" folder to open the "Substitute Element" table with the following columns:

 

Name

The name of the profile. This can be edited by the user.

 

Description

Details of the Substitution. This can be edited by the user.

 

You will be able to sort the table by any parameter by left-clicking on the column headers. Left-click on the header again to reverse the order.

 

To create a "Substitute Element" profile, right-click on the "Substitute Element" folder, and then select Substitute Element from the context-menu. Now select the relevant day-types, and then click "OK".

 

You can delete a "Substitute Element" profile by left-clicking on the appropriate row in the "Substitute Element" table, and then pressing the <Delete> key. Alternatively, you can delete it by clicking on the '+' by the "Substitute Element" folder, left-clicking on the appropriate profile icon, and then pressing the <Delete> key.

 

Double-clicking on a "Substitute Element" row in the table will open the "Substitute Element" details window. For more details, go to the Substitute Element topic.

 

You can apply a "Substitute Element" profile to Building Elements. To apply a profile to a single Building Element, left-click on the '+' by the "Substitute Element" folder to show all "Substitute Element" profiles. Left-click on the '+' by the "Building Elements" folder to show all Building Elements. Move the mouse cursor so it is pointing to the "Substitute Element" profile icon in the Tree View, hold down the left mouse button, move the cursor to the Building Element's icon in the Tree View, and then release the mouse button.

 

Alternatively, left-click on the '+' by the "Substitute Element" folder to show all "Substitute Element" profiles. Left-click on the '+' by the "Building Elements" folder to show all Building Elements. Left-click on the appropriate Building Element icon. This will open the "Building Elements" details window. Left-click on the "Substitute Element" tab. Move the cursor so it is pointing to the "Substitute Element" profile icon in the Tree View, hold down the left mouse button, move the cursor to the table in the Building Element's "Substitute Element" tab, and then release the mouse button.

 

The third method of applying a "Substitute Element" profile to a single Building Element is to left-click on the "Building Element" folder to show the "Building Elements" table. Left-click on the '+' by the "Substitute Element" folder to show all "Substitute Element" profiles. Move the cursor so it is pointing to the "Substitute Element" profile icon in the Tree View, hold down the left mouse button, move the cursor to the Building Element's row in the "Building Elements" table, and then release the mouse button.

 

To apply a "Substitute Element" profile to multiple Building Elements, you must select the Building Elements in the "Building Elements" table first by holding down the <Ctrl> key on your keyboard while left-clicking on them. You can select a range of Building Elements by left-clicking on the first one in the range, hold down the <Shift> key, and then click on the last. All of the Building Elements in the range will be selected. Now left-click on the '+' next to the "Substitute Element" folder, move the cursor of the appropriate "Substitute Element" icon, hold down the left mouse button, move the cursor to the "Building Elements" table, and then release the mouse button.
