Heating Design Day

This section deals with setting up a design day simulation for sizing the heating capacity. The design day simulation works by running the design day for the number of user-defined repetitions, where the day type defines which internal conditions are used. Weather data for a single day is taken from a weather file for the external conditions. Once the software has run the calculations for the design day, it will then continue onto the next design day in the list, which will have a different set of internal and external conditions.

The design say table will list the design days that will be used in the design day simulation. There is one design day called "Heating Design Day" already in the table. The design day list box has a set of buttons directly above it:

Alt + Up arrow

Moves the selected design day up one position in the list.

Move Down

Alt + Down arrow

Moves the selected design day down one position in the list.

To select a design day, left-click on its name. To change the name of a design day, double left-click on its name. You must have at least one design day to be able to run the design day simulation.

For each design day, the following parameters must be set:

Description: the user may input details about the design day.

Repetitions: the number of times the design day simulation will run this design day.

If you are using the design day simulation to do optimum sizing then, this value must be set to zero. Tas will continue repeating the same day until the plant has been sized.

Year Day: This is used to calculate the sun position. The sun position is a function of the time and the weather file's geographical position.

Day Type: The day type assigned to the selected design day. Day types are created in the following section: Calendar.

The design day window also contains a graphical and tabular tabs for the weather information. The user should copy a day's worth of data from a weather file into the weather table. The tabs are described in the sections  weather file -graphical and weather- tabular.
